To become a registered NDIS provider, follow these steps:
- Ensure eligibility: Have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and demonstrate ability to deliver supports and services.
- Obtain worker screening: Ensure all workers in risk-assessed roles have valid worker screening clearances.
- Complete worker orientation: Ensure all workers complete the compulsory NDIS worker orientation module.
- Create a PRODA account: Register for a Provider Digital Access account on the NDIS website.
- Prepare documentation: Gather organisation details, key personnel information, and supporting evidence. Watch how to get ready for audit.
- Complete online application: Log in to the NDIS Commission Applications Portal and submit the application, including self-assessment against NDIS Practice Standards.
- Undergo quality audit: Engage an approved independent auditor to assess compliance with NDIS Practice Standards.
- Address audit findings: Fix any issues identified during the audit process.
- Suitability assessment: The NDIS Commission will assess the suitability of the provider and key personnel. If you need assistance to do this, contact a consultant.
- Receive registration certificate: If successful, you’ll receive a certificate outlining registered services and registration validity.
- Maintain compliance: Adhere to the NDIS Code of Conduct, Practice Standards, and other registration conditions.
- Access myplace portal: Set up access to submit payment requests and connect with NDIA-managed participants.
